Holly Holland, MA, RYT:
After spending more than 20 years in the stressful fields of journalism and publishing, Holly turned to yoga to bring better balance to her life. Originally a student of the Hatha yoga style, she fell in love with the rejuvenating powers of Rocket yoga, a dynamic form of Ashtanga yoga that adds in more core abdominal moves, inversions, hip openers, backbends, and twists than traditional yoga classes. Holly has studied directly with Larry Schultz, the founder of Rocket Yoga in San Francisco (www.itsyoga.com) and is a graduate of the affiliated teacher training program at Yoga Ah! in Cincinnati.
Holly graduated from the University of Louisville with a bachelor’s degree in history and from American University with a master’s degree in journalism. In addition to teaching yoga at the University of Louisville, Bellarmine University, Jewish Community Center, and Core Studios, Holly is the Acquisitions and Development Editor at Stenhouse Publishers (www.stenhouse.com) and the founder and director of the Sudanese Refugee Education Fund (www.sudaneseinkentucky.org). She and her husband, John Herzfeld, have two sons, one a senior in college and the other a recent college graduate.
